Welcome Back, Lauren!

CDHA is thrilled to welcome back Lauren Schmitz as she resumes vital role as the Associate Director of Training following her sabbatical break! Lauren is an Associate Professor of Public Affairs at the La Follette School of Public Affairs and a dedicated member of the CDHA community. Her extensive research spans social genomics, health economics, biodemography, and health disparities, and she continues to lead the Biosocial Equity Lab investigating how social disadvantage affects health across the life course. Moving forward, Lauren will resume working closely with CDHA Director Michal Engelman and the CDE leadership team to coordinate multidisciplinary training activities for our graduate students and postdocs. Many thanks to Max Besbris for his excellent work as Interim CDHA Associate Director of Training this past year. Please join us in welcoming Lauren back to the leadership team!
