Johanna Nunez & Sarah Salas Awarded First Prize ICAA Poster Award

Congratulations to CDHA graduate student trainees Johanna NunezSarah Salas, who were awarded first place at the ICAA 2024 conference for their poster “Mechanisms of Latino Migrant Retention: Lived-In Experiences from the Third Age and Implications for Health.” The poster is based on life history interviews with Latino older adults living in Wisconsin, conducted with support from PI Michal Engelman. Twenty-six scholars presented their posters during the Emerging Scholar Poster Session at the conference titled “Challenges of Dementia and Healthful Aging in the Americas: U.S. & Mexico.” ICAA “sought to raise the bar of excellence” for the conference via revising their poster judging metrics to emphasize research quality and the potential for future publication. We are so proud of your excellent work, Johanna & Sarah!
