Congratulations to Maichou Lor, who was awarded a 2023 Outstanding Women of Color in Education award! Lor was one of 13 recipients honored by the University of Wisconsin System this year, with the award recognizing their achievements in advancing equity and inclusion for people of color within the Universities of Wisconsin and communities across Wisconsin.
Lor is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, with her research focus areas including health equity, symptom science and palliative care, and aging and care for older adults. Lor is a co-principal investigator of the Hmoob Lub Neej (Hmong People’s Lives) Project, which aims to increase the representation of Wisconsin’s Hmong community in health research and to produce data about the Hmong community while centering Hmong voices. The project is funded by the NIA And UW-Madison Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education. Congratulations once again, Maichou!
