Call for Papers: Eleventh Annual Midwest Health Economics Conference

The University of Wisconsin-Madison will host the Eleventh Annual Midwest Health Economics Conference May 7-8, 2020. Local sponsors are the Center for Demography of Health and Aging, La Follette School of Public Affairs, School of Business, Department of Economics, and Department of Population Health Sciences.

This annual invitational conference assembles junior and senior economists to present, debate, and discuss cutting-edge health economics research. There will be a full day of presentations on Thursday, May 7, and a half-day of presentations on Friday, May 8 at the Discovery Building on campus. We welcome submissions from all scholars regardless of location, though in selecting the program we will (slightly) favor those connected to Midwest institutions.

Abstracts (or complete papers) can be submitted on the CDHA website or via email to Sherry Huhn (shuhn@wisc.edu) with the subject line “MHEC submission.”  The deadline for submissions is February 23, 2020. We will select approximately 10 papers. We will email decisions by March 13, 2020. To facilitate discussion, we ask authors to send completed papers by May 3, 2020.

MHEC charges no registration fee. The University of Wisconsin-Madison will provide meals; participants must pay all other expenses, including transportation and lodging. We have reserved a block of rooms on the UW campus at the Wisconsin Union Hotel (across the street from the Discovery Building, $131/night) or the Lowell Center (15 min walk to Discovery Building, $115/night).

If you have questions, please send an email to shuhn@wisc.edu.

We look forward to seeing you in Madison.
